Itinerary in Basilicata from Matera to the Pollino Park and through the Valle del Sermento to the Calabrian sea.
Beautiful tour from Matera to the Pollino Park and descending from the greenhouses of the Ciavole and Crispo to the Sinni, it follows the Valle del Sermento bringing us to the sea of Calabria. A trip to discover extremely varied and seductive places among ancient culture, wild nature and gastronomy.
The departure of this itinerary takes place from Matera, the beautiful city of Basilicata famous throughout the world for the Sassi district and for the cobalt blue sky, first go in the direction of the Masseria of Zigarella, Miglionico.
The itinerary continues to Pisticci Scalo and from there turning right to Masseria Vitelli, Peschiera and then briefly turning right and crossing the dam of Lake Gannano.
Pass Caprarico, Caputo, Masseria San Vito, Masseria Fontanelle, Masseria Tufferelli to reach the lake of Monte Cotugno. Characteristic is the great dam on the Sinni river, the largest in Europe in 1850 meters long and 60 high beaten earth.
Leaving the lake behind, we enter the depths of the Pollino Park, entering a very characteristic wilderness. Inapplicing us in the Valle del Sermento we overcome in succession Noepoli and Cersosimo laden with millenary history entering immediately afterwards in Calabria.
In Calabrian territory we pass Oriolo and along the iron river we reach the coast where the Ionian sea and its beaches await us.
