A little further on we are surprised by the sudden appearance of the medieval castle of Cerro a Volturno.

After passing Forlì del Sannio, and Roccasicura you reach Carovilli. From this ancient village, which houses a small temple and many fortifications from the 2nd century BC, skirting the splendid Collemeluccio Reserve you reach the important archaeological area of Pietrabbondante, a very important Samnite civil and religious center. The most important nucleus of the majestic Hellenistic complex consists of a theater, which still preserves the seats from the peculiar anatomical section, a temple and two buildings with porticos on the sides of the latter.

Our itinerary in Molise reaches the splendid Agnone, surrounded by majestic Cyclopean walls, famous for the production of bells for over a thousand years and where there is the Pontifical Marinelli Foundry, active for at least seven centuries, which can be visited together with the adjacent and beautiful Historical museum of the bell.

Continuing along the road we arrive at Pescopennataro, where there is the beautiful Garden of the Apennine Flora, and then to Capracotta, known winter ski resort and final destination of this itinerary in Molise
